Lakshadweep

Located
in the southwest coast of India in the Arabian sea, Lakshadweep consists of
36 islands and called the Lakshadweep Island Group. This coral island is
just 400 km from the state of Kearala. It is one of the popular beach
holiday destinations in the coast of Kerala and known for its marine life
especially exotic corals.
Best Time for Beach Holidays
The ideal time for beach holidays in Lakshdweep is from the month of May to
September. Monsoons arrives here in the month of October and heavy rainfall
occur during this period and so not suitable for visiting the period.
Lakshadweep Beaches
Lakshadweep welcomes you to witness and enjoy the priceless treasures of
nature with its incredible beaches. Its beautiful beaches are ideal for
sunbathing, scuba diving, boating and all kinds of water sports activities.

» Kavaratti - Kavaratti is the capital of the island
Lakshadweep and offers several adventure activities in its lovely beach. It

famous for its marine life including dolphin.
» Kalpeni - The kalpeni beach offers

Agatti - It is another island in Lakshadweep is a perfect picnic spot

Almost all beaches in Lakshadweep offer excellent accommodation facilities
in several beach resorts of the island. The resorts also arrange a wide

Accessibility
The island is well connected to some of the major cities of India by air
and by sea.
» Air - It has its own airport at Agati Island,
which is connected to Kochi by regular flights of Indian Airlines.
» Sea - Ship Cruises are available for the tourists.
Permits
All islands in Lakshadweep are not open for tourists. Only the islands like
Kalpani, Kavaratti, Minicoy and Bangaram island are open for tourists.
Indians are required to obtain permits from the Lakshadweep Administration.
Foreign tourists are allowed to visit only the Bangaram island.
